These are great Allan, I'd love to pick your brain sometime as a Mandelbulb 3D newbie myself. Your technique works very well, whatever it may be
WHAT PROGRAM DID YOU USE TO MAKE THOSE MASTERPIECE? It's just the best.
Hello there....Thank you for your kind comment, I use Mandelbulb3d, which is free software and an incredible piece of kit. Regards Allan
Is it easy to create something like that? How much render time does that picture takes you?
Is it easy?.....well with any software there is a process of learning how to handle it which can take a bit of time, but the software is such that you can get some results straight away. Have a look at the tutorials on Deviant Art or Youtube and jump in and have a go. Render time varies with formula size of image and your pc speed of course. I have quite a quick pc and the Medusa ones took about 5 hours but sometimes I will leave something running over night. Some of my Von Neumann Building fractals took something like 9/10 hours but I do like to go for huge images with lots of detail. Even now I don't use all the stuff available on this software. The formula combinations and lighting variations are infinite. If I were to give you any advice it would be to do your own thing with it. There are certain fractal groups on Deviant Art where members post the formula to produce an image and this can be posted onto a 'clipboard' and run on your own pc very simply. You can then manipulate the parameters and create something of your own. Some of the forums can be very technical but you don't need to be technical or particularly mathematically minded to use the software. Go for it!
